The Dragons confirmed last week the former Western Rams star will spend 2021 with the club.
Ellis made the switch to the Dragons midway through last season after game-time became hard to come by at the Penrith Panthers.
The 24-year-old played eight matches for the club and after being described as a "positive addition" he will now work to help a new-look Dragons climb the ladder.
"Kaide arrived at the Dragons in recent months with high credentials and he certainly proved a positive addition to our team in the back end of last season," Dragons' general manager of football Ben Haran said of the Dubbo junior last week.

While the opportunity to play regularly in the NRL was a huge benefit for Ellis - he played eight times for the Dragons last season - the club struggled on the field and finished in 12th spot.
Coach Paul McGregor was removed from his role before the season ended and Anthony Griffin has now come in for 2021 while former Origin player Jack Bird has joined the club from the Broncos.
The Dragons have also re-signed Mat and Max Feagai, Josh Kerr, Jackson Ford, Mikaele Ravalawa, Adam Clune, Junior Amone and Tyrell Sloan.
