Regional Development Australia (RDA) Orana's annual State of the Region event on Thursday will include progress reports on the Australian Opal Centre redevelopment, the Parkes Special Activation Precinct and the Orana Renewable Energy Zone.

RDA Orana's director of regional development Megan Dixon said the day would feature an overview of its export hub activities and the O2N network.

"It will also represent the launch of our official prospectus, along with a presentation by keynote speaker Heath Baker," she said.
The founder and principal of Mercury International Consulting, Mr Baker's speech will focus on 'boosting resilience and mitigating risk'.
Professor Alan Broadfoot from the Newcastle Institute for Energy and Resources will also give a presentation about building industry partnerships in the mining and energy sectors.
"There will also be updates on the Australian Opal Centre redevelopment, the Parkes Special Activation Precinct, and the Orana Renewable Energy Zone," Mrs Dixon said.
The State of the Region address will be given by Member for Parkes and Minister for Regional Health, Regional Communications and Local Government Mark Coulton.
"This day is an important occasion on the Orana calendar to mark the challenges and achievements of 2020 and to assist us in shaping the future of our wonderful region," Mrs Dixon said.
COVID-19 regulations will be adhered to on the day.
The event will run from 8.15am to 2pm at Dubbo RSL Memorial Club.
