DRTCC manager Linda Christof said although they had already reintroduced events after a COVID-19 hiatus, they had been on a smaller scale than what can be anticipated for the new season.
"We have been fortunate, as many other theatres are holding off from launching their 2021 season, but given our location we've been able to confidently go ahead," Ms Christof said.
"The launch will be held at the theatre on Sunday, November 29, from 1pm and has been made possible by our sponsors King Hall Jewellers."
Ms Christof said although she cannot give too much away in regards to the upcoming season as of yet, she can confirm that nine popular shows that had been scheduled for the 2020 season, which were cancelled due to COVID-19, will go ahead in 2021.
"We also have 11 new productions," she said.
"With a focus on family and youth shows this season."
Ms Christof said the audience could expect a different format this year at the official 2021 season launch with a special screen scrolling of images to celebrate the theatre's 10 year anniversary.
"Patrons will be able to gather in the auditorium before going into the theatre and enjoy a drink. Although it starts at 1pm, the doors will be opening at 12pm. So, if anyone wants to come a little earlier they can. I'm sure many of our regular patrons images will be on the screen as we will be screening images from the last 10 years in celebration of our 10th birthday," she said.
Ms Christof said the 2021 season launch was also a good opportunity for patrons to learn what would happen in regards to their tickets and vouchers that were purchased last year before gatherings were banned and shows canceled because of COVID-19.
