Dubbo will be hammered by heat at the weekend as will its western neighbours.
The Bureau of Meteorology's (BoM) seven-day forecast for Dubbo as of Wednesday suggests Dubbo will swelter on Saturday and Sunday.
The top temperature both days is forecast to be 39 degrees Celsius, 10.2 degrees higher than the 28.8 degrees average maximum temperature for Dubbo during the month of November.
Western towns will also cop a blast of heat this week with the BoM predicting top temperatures above 40 degrees in many of them, including Bourke, Cobar and Nyngan.
Maximum temperatures in Bourke on Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be 41 and 42 degrees, and Cobar and Nyngan 41 degrees both days.
The heat will gradually build with top temperatures in Dubbo on Thursday and Friday predicted to reach 35 and 37 degrees.
On Monday and Tuesday the temperature will dip to 33 and 32 degrees.
There is a chance of thunderstorms on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and a 40 per cent chance of up to one millimetre of rain on Monday.
