It comes after an incident in the street last month, which saw two occupants of a house that was engulfed in flames, taken to hospital.
Station Officer Chris Cusack from Dubbo Fire Station and Captain Aaron Ferguson from Delroy Fire Station deployed firefighters to visits to each household, as part of the Safety Visits program, to ensure occupants had at least one working smoke alarm on each level and provide the homes with fire safety advice and information.
Pairs of firefighters, following COVID-safe protocols, were invited in by residents to check the operation of smoke alarms and install, free of charge, new photoelectric 10 year alarms.
The program will continue throughout Dubbo.
