Dubbo Regional Council hosted the Chalk Challenge as part the Chalk Walk street event which aimed to create an engaging, new and COVID-safe event for residents and visitors.
Youths were encouraged to create their own chalk artwork and share a photo on social media using #ChalkChallengeDRC for a chance to win an art class with Jack Randall.
The theme of the challenge was 'what does your community mean to you?'.

Sisters Emily and Clare Lucan took out first place in the under 13s category, with siblings Mackenzie and Issack Finlay both named runners-up. Sarayu Prakashbabu won first prize in the open category, with Lachlan, Deacon and Makenzi George along with Archie and Albert Rich who were runners up.
Jack Randall from ArtClubDub, who was also one of the judges, said he was impressed by the talent in the community.
"It was a good start ... there was lots of colour and I think we could benefit from a little bit of tuition to tidy up the composition, but the enthusiasm was certainly there," he said.
The winners will now get to participate in an art class at ArtClubDub.
"We coach people in the technical aspects of making art," Mr Randall said.
"Everybody's got inspiration, but that's only half of it so the next bit is the how to, so what makes a platypus work, if that's the subject, or how do we bring things together."
Mr Randell's advice to young artists would be to "learn and practice".
