Police are appealing for information after a man, armed with a machete, robbed a service station in Dubbo.

About 2.50am on Monday, police were called to a service station on Cobra Street following reports of an armed robbery.
Police have been told a man, who was armed with a machete, entered the store before threatening the employee.

The armed man stole cash and fled the scene on foot.
He was seen heading in a westerly direction on Cobra Street, before he went into an alleyway on Macquarie Street.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District conducted an extensive search of the area, but the man could not be located.
As inquiries continue, police would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist them.
He was last seen wearing a blue hooded jumper with a white 'ECKO' logo.
