COVID-19 restrictions meant there was a cap of only 500 attendees, however it didn't stop the fun or the fashions.
Trent Chippindall and Sharlene Roberts were named the Fashions on the Field winners.
Mr Chippindall said he went to the races to have a great day.
"It's something to do. It's my first time here actually for the Melbourne Cup and it's awesome," he said.

And when getting ready, Mr Chippindall dressed for success.
"I was telling everyone I was going to win it. I even told Lachlan Cuzack I was going to beat him. He didn't go in it because of me. He knew I was going to win," he said.
Ms Roberts attended with her Alchemy work colleagues.
"I found some gloves yesterday so I decided to go all out," she said.
Not only was she the winner of the female fashions, she also managed to pick a winner in one of the local races.
As the winners of Fashions on the Field, Ms Roberts were given champagne, flowers and a vouchers to Whitney's Jewellers, while Mr Chippindall was given champagne and a voucher for Sid's Bottle Shop.
