Nurses have been revealed as the darlings of Dubbo Hospital in new data released by the Bureau of Health Information.

The data from the bureau's adult admitted patient survey for 2019 also confirms continuing affection for the nurses.
But Dubbo Hospital didn't get similar treatment with the percentage of 2019 survey respondents rating the hospital's care as "very good" lower than the previous year.

The 2019 survey engaged about 22,000 respondents in 75 public hospitals in NSW, including Dubbo Hospital.
Last year, 77 per cent of 467 respondents at Dubbo Hospital rated the nurses who cared for them as "very good" and 20 per cent "good", replicating the choices of 264 respondents in the 2018 survey.
In NSW, 75 per cent of 21,119 respondents answered "very good" and 20 per cent "good" when asked to rate nurses in 2019.
The bureau's adult admitted patient survey for 2019 shows Dubbo Hospital doctors impressed 72 per cent of 473 respondents who ticked the "very good" box. A further 24 per cent chose "good".
But in the 2018 survey the doctors were rated higher with 80 per cent of 266 respondents calling them "very good" and 17 per cent "good".
Dubbo Hospital doctors were practically on par with their NSW colleagues in the 2019 survey.
Of 21,179 respondents across the state, 72 per cent rated their doctors as "very good" and 23 per cent "good".
The bureau has reported of 67 per cent of 482 respondents from Dubbo Hospital rating its care "very good" in 2019, down from 74 per cent in 2018 when 275 respondents had their say on the issue.
In 2019, 28 per cent of respondents rated its care "good" up from 23 per cent in 2018.
The latest survey shows 67 per cent of 21,581 respondents in NSW chose "very good" when asked to rate the care they received from public hospitals, with 26 per cent opting for "good".
