A man and a teenager have been charged with multiple traffic offences following an investigation into trail-bike riding in Bourke.

Between Sunday, October 11 and Thursday, October 15 officers attached to Central North Police District allege a man and a teenager were seen riding trail bikes erratically within the Bourke township on numerous occasions.

The riders and pillon passengers were frequently seen without helmets.
Following inquiries police arrested an 18-year-old man on Oxley Street at Bourke at about 12.05pm on Thursday, October 15, and seized his trail bike.
He was taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with 12 offences including:
- Use unregistered motor vehicle (three counts)
- Never licensed person drive vehicle on road (three counts)
- Rider without helmet ride with one passenger without helmet (two counts)
- Use uninsured motor vehicle (three counts)
- Motorbike rider not wear helmet
The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Bourke Local Court on November 5.
Following further inquiries, about 8.35pm on Thursday police also arrested a 16-year-old on Adelaide Street, Bourke.
They were taken to Bourke Police Station and charged with eight offences including:
- Use unregistered motor vehicle (two counts)
- Never licensed person drive vehicle on road (two counts)
- Rider without helmet ride with one passenger without helmet (two counts), and
- Use uninsured motor vehicle (two counts).
The teenager was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a children's court on October 29.
