Premier Gladys Berejiklian told reporters on Thursday that NSW was on the cusp of another Crossroads Hotel event as the state recorded 11 new cases of COVID-19 - six locally acquired and five in hotel quarantine.
Such were the premier's concerns that she said the government would be putting on hold plans for a further easing of restrictions within hotels and restaurants until those numbers could be properly investigated.
With school holiday's drawing such a strong crowd to the Dubbo region over the past two weeks, there is no way to know who has been in contact with whom, and where they have come from before.
It's a timely reminder for us all that the virus is still out there, and still needs to be considered as we go about our daily lives.
Especially with restrictions lifting again slightly on Friday to allow outdoor venues to host double to number of patrons, as long as they have an electronic QR code register.
From Friday a two square meter rule will apply for outside areas, while the four square meters will apply inside.
So while the risk of infection in Dubbo remains very low (and that reality must be stressed), more than ever we should adhere to the messages surrounding social distancing and good personal hygiene.
What has been made clear is that health officials remain desperate for people to continue coming forward for testing as that remains our best safeguard against new cases going undetected.
If you feel unwell, even mildly, get tested today, for the sake of the community, your family and yourself, it's important to be tested.
