She later attempted to purchase a meal at McDonalds with the counterfeit note, however drive-through staff realised the money was fake and attempted to stall her by asking Ms Dickson to wait in the McCafe while they called police.
According to police facts after five minutes Ms Dickson left McDonalds, but was stopped by police on the corner of Gipps and Roper Streets.
Officers searched Ms Dickson and her vehicle and located another counterfeit $50, along with a resealable bag containing 0.4 grams of methamphetamine.
In Dubbo Local Court Ms Dickson pleaded guilty to three counts of using counterfeit money knowing it to be counterfeit, one count of disposing proceeds gained from counterfeit money, one count of possessing counterfeit money and one count of possessing a prohibited drug.
Magistrate Theresa Hamilton said Ms Dickson had a limited criminal record and the amount of money involved in the counterfeit crimes was small.
"The possession and use of counterfeit notes is a serious matter and in your personal circumstances I've given you the benefit of the doubt," Magistrate Hamilton said.
"If you get involved in anything like this again you can't expect leniency and you may well expect a term of imprisonment."
Ms Dickson was convicted and given a 15-month community corrections order and ordered to be of good behaviour.
