Dubbo PCYC manager Emily Ross said the holidays so far have been great.
"The kids have been loving it, we've been fully booked up for week one, which we hate having to turn people away but with COVID-19 we can't jiggle the numbers.
"We've had kids come for one day and then call back and say they want to come again, one kid who attended the gymnastics program said they didn't want to go home."
Those who may have missed out on the experience in week one, are now being encouraged to book in for week two.
Miss Ross said they still had 40 spaces left for the second week of their holiday program.
"We have two streams of holiday activities. We've got our school holiday activities which is a sport and recreation program that runs all day," she said.
"So kids go through four activities each day which is both sport or recreation, so that may be drawing, dancing, maybe some trivia, and maybe some gymnastics if they're lucky if we have the time.
"It's $40 for the day, and runs from 8.30am to 5pm, so it caters for all working parents.
"At the moment we're half-full, so we have plenty of spaces left.
"And that runs every day from Tuesday to Friday.
"Our second stream is where we've offered, for the first time, a recreational gymnastics program, which is really, really exciting.
"So, we've been offering that two days a week these school holidays.
"Next week that will be Wednesday and Friday, and it runs from 9am to 12pm.
"It's for kids to come and try gymnastics, see if they enjoy it and then they will have the opportunity to sign up for term four if they want.
"To register you have to be a member, which you can do online through the Dubbo PCYC website, or you can pop down to the club and see us, which is probably the easiest way to do it, or give us call."
Miss Ross said they've also had a Fit for Life participant volunteering to help with the programs over the school holiday period.
He's been working alongside Dubbo PCYC staff and helping out with the kids.
The Fit for Life is part of the PCYC's Rise Up Strategy which involves eight police programs aimed at reconnecting youth with their communities.
"It's really encouraging to see people who have participated in our programs come back and give back to the community that has given so much to them," Miss Ross said.
