A 16-year-old has been charged following an investigation into an alleged aggravated break-in at a home in Dubbo last month.

About 1.15pm on August 3, a 92-year-old woman was on the front verandah of her home on Crown Street, Dubbo, when she heard a noise coming from inside.

Police allege she was confronted by a person who threatened her with a knife, demanding cash. They left the scene allegedly taking the woman's debit card and a small amount of loose change.
Following inquiries, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District arrested a 16-year-old at a home in Wellington on Thursday September 24.
They were taken to Wellington Police Station where they were charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence-armed, and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The youth was formerly refused bail at a children's court on last Friday and will reappear at a children's court on October 12.
