A donation from Ezycharge, now allows family members to recharge their mobile devices in the foyer of Ronald McDonald House Orange.

Ronald McDonald House Orange executive officer Rebecca Walsh said it is vital for families to be able to stay in touch with family members and clinicians while their child or teenager is at Orange hospital.

"We are so appreciative of the partnership with Ezycharge who are so generous to Ronald McDonald Charities," Ms Walsh said.

She said the new charging station replaces a previous unit which due to changing technology required an upgrade.

"Being able to offer this free charging service is just another of our services to families which includes complimentary breakfasts, food pantry items for self-catering, gift bags of books and toys for children, and baby bundles for new mums," Ms Walsh said.

The donation has come at a time when the house has been running at almost full capacity over the last three weeks.

"At the moment the majority of the families staying with us have an adolescent in the Child and Adolescent Mental Health unit within Orange Hospital," Ms Walsh said.

"We are also responding to the demand for women experiencing a high-risk pregnancy need to travel to Orange for specialist consultation and treatment at Orange hospital."

Ezycharge Australia Chief Executive Officer Russell Barwick has first-hand knowledge of Ronald McDonald House after his own son Harrison was a guest at RMHC Westmead when he was ill.

As as result his company has supported the charity with upgraded mobile charging units across 18 houses, 19 family rooms and five family retreats. Mr Barwick used to live at Forbes and said he knows how important access to these facilities are for country families.

Since the Orange house opened its doors five years ago it has provided almost 6000 nights of free accommodation for 747 families from across the central and far west, as well as other areas of the state.
