The Dubbo 19-year-old will partner with 18-year-old Nathan Herne for Garry Rodgers Motorsport in the event, both making their debuts as one of the youngest teams to hit the track.
"It's been so good, I've just been training and trying to keep physically and mentally fit and I really think I am in the lead up to the big race," Everingham said.
While Everingham's had plenty of prior experience at the Mount, and is as familiar as any racer with the track, he's still being kept excited by the opportunity to do something new.
While the horror crash that he thankfully walked away unscathed from ripped across social media at the time, Everingham says it hasn't lingered in his mind.
"You've got to put that stuff behind you and when I got behind the wheel for another Super 2 race at the start of the year that really helped," Everingham said.
"It pushed the thought right out of my mind."
It's all gravy for Everingham, who's finally starting to feel the wheels turning in earnest on his young career.
"The momentum's been a pretty steady build up, but absolutely I'm feeling it now, it has been a bit rough for everyone with the limited racing this year, but to get the Bathurst 1000 call up, it's really special," Everingham said.
The Mike Kable Young Gun award winner was quick to thank his team for their hard work, and heap praise on his family for the sacrifices they've made to get him here.
Seeing the work that's gone into the preparation has Everingham even more excited to take the next step.
"Everything's really starting to come together, it's been really good and a big thing right now is just ensuring I can get that time in the seat, so this is great," Everingham said.
"I'm not really looking at any specific target, it's a new field, a bit different in terms of form, I'm just going to go out there and try to have as much fun as I can."
The Bathurst 1000 is expected to being this year on Thursday, October 15, with a pre-race test set to take place in Winton in the lead-up.
