The not-for-profit community-based organisation has relocated to 30-31 Church Street at the old Masonic Centre.

Dubbo Neighbourhood Centre chief executive officer Michelle Redden said they had moved from the Gipps Street residence because they needed to downsize their space.

"The building that we were in was beautiful, but it was just too big," she said.

"It's now being leased by Uniting who have over 80 people in there, whereas we were about 20."

Ms Redden said they hoped the move would make the organisation more "attractive" and "central" for clients who needed them.

"We do a lot of advocacy and other services, so we're just two doors down from Headspace doing cross referrals with them," she said.

"We're hoping that with our clients, particularly if it's food or whatever their needs, its just that little bit more central."

The new building is expected to open to the public in about four weeks, however Ms Redden said they have been working from other centres in the meantime.

"We're still continuing with our services, like with our counselling services and domestic violence our counsellors have never been more busy, so they're still working over the phone," she said.
