Sadly, a further 11 Victorians have lost their lives to the virus.
Today's announcement continues an extended run of daily increases in double digits.
The number follows 55 new cases on Tuesday, 41 new cases on Monday, 63 new cases on Sunday and 76 new cases on Saturday.
More detail on today's figures is expected later this morning.
On Tuesday, regional Victoria dropped below the 14-day average case threshold.
It is the first key benchmark in advancing to the 'third step' of the government's roadmap out of restriction.
The other criteria that must be met - no mystery cases in the regions for 14 days - is a figure that has not been released by the government.
Australian Community Media asked the DHHS when this data would be released and how regional Victoria was situated. A response has not yet been received.
There has never been any public information released about mystery cases in the regions, so it is not known when the last case occurred.

Meanwhile, the Murrumbidgee region has recorded a new coronavirus case in the last 24 hours after a Carrathool resident isolating in Sydney tested positive.
Murrumbidgee Local Health District officials believe the case is linked to the person having close contact with a case at a Sydney boarding school.
The new case brings the region's total to 56, with an additional 451 tests conducted over the past 24 hours.
