Durakai remains in an induced coma in Westmead Hospital after a serious motorbike accident last weekend.
There has been an outpouring of support for Durakai and his family since and almost $30,000 has been raised through a GoFundMe page.
Sporting groups connected to the Smith family are also showing their support with a Crazy Sock Day charity event on at the Nita McGrath netball courts on Saturday while the South Dubbo Raiders rugby league club plans to run a fundraising auction in the coming weeks.
Saturday's netball event was started by the Merindas club, of which Brinae is the president and her mother, Lowana West, is the secretary.
Merindas treasurer Lexi Coan had originally planned it for just her own club but the Dubbo Netball Association has come onboard and made it open to all clubs across the day while also donating $1000 to the GoFundMe page.
"I'm overwhelmed by the support," Coan said.
"I was a bit surprised the DNA agreed to it because they have their own crazy sock day so for all clubs to get involved, it means a lot."

Players of all ages across all grades are invited to wear colourful and crazy socks on Saturday as well as put tape around their wrists which will be labelled with the #StayStrongDurakai hashtag which has been trending in recent days.
A tent will also be set up on the Riverbank Ovals next to the courts, closest to Officeworks, so players and supporters and even those from outside the netball community can attend and make a donation while remaining in line with all COVID restrictions.
There will be cakes and other foods and many items available to buy from Coan at the tent and the money raised, along with any donations, will go to the Smith family.
The rugby league community is also getting involved as Durakai is a member of the South Dubbo Raiders under 6s side.
The team plays at Nyngan this weekend and coach Craig McLean confirmed Durakai's jersey will be rested for the match.
The Raiders are also working to have an auction night with at least 40 items on offer to raise more funds in the coming weeks, with the St John's club also assisting.
"It's good to see a small community come together," McLean said.
"It's never ideal when it's tragic circumstances but it's been good to see everyone supporting each other."
Brinae Smith posted a statement on the GoFundMe page on Thursday thanking the community for its support while a 'Darkeye' Facebook page has also been created with information about Durakai's current journey and photos from family and friends.
