Brown, the 19-month-old maremma dog, went missing from the Blue Mountains four months ago, but she's now in the Central West.

For the last 10 days people have sighted her in and around Blayney, but there has now been an unconfirmed sighting in Orange.

Carol Bertram has urged anyone who thinks they have seen her dog to take a photo or video and send to her so she can confirm it is actually Brown.

Ms Bertram has been tracking her dog's 200-kilometre trek since it escaped from Hazlebrook on April 22.

Brown, who grew up on a farm and has had little contact with people. Each time someone has attempted to catch her she has become scared and fled.

"We nearly had her yesterday morning [in Blayney] but she ran off," Ms Bertram said.

"She ran across the road and into paddocks.

"There was a possible sighting in Orange on Wednesday night, but I'm not sure."

Ms Bertram has called in a wildlife rescuer who has been attempting to dart Brown, but each time the dog has outsmarted him and others trying to save her.

"It's a matter of getting eyes on her and trying again," she said.

Brown is the size of a German shepherd and is white in colour.
