The Dubbo Kangaroos junior and senior sides will play at the same venue on Saturday in a bumper day of rugby which is certain to inspire the city's up and coming players.

Matches will be played at Victoria Park's No. 2 and 3 ovals in what Dubbo Junior Rugby Club president Jason Blake said is an "unique opportunity".

"The last few years we've had a very good affiliation with the seniors," Blake said.

"A few seniors have been at training sessions to help with scrums or lineouts, or the backs and positioning.

"It helps that connection and gives the opportunity to see who the seniors are."

Both the juniors and seniors will be taking on Orange City.

The juniors will be in action throughout the morning at No. 2 before the senior games start with the Roos' unbeaten women's side taking on the Lions from 11.40am at No. 3 Oval.

Colts and second grade follow before the main event in first grade.

The Roos' first grade side didn't take to the field last week after the scheduled match at Bathurst was abandoned due to the snow and wild weather but remains second on the ladder behind the undefeated Orange Emus.

Saturday also marks the Roos' senior club's Sponsors' Day but the senior and junior clubs have worked to ensure it runs in line with all COVID-19 restrictions.

"It's an opportunity to see the seniors and see how those boys and girls play," Blake said.

There will also be clear proof of the pathway from juniors to seniors on show.

Jayden Blake, Jason's son, was in the juniors last season but has made the Roos' first grade fullback spot his own in the Blowes Clothing Cup this year.

"I've been affiliated with rugby for many years and what we're seeing this year in seniors is exciting," Jason Blake said.

"They must be excited about the depth that's there, right through to the women and third grade.

"And colts is doing well and the team is there. They're improving every week so the seniors must be happy."

While no junior sides sit top of their respective ladders at this stage of the season there's still been plenty to be proud of.

Like so many other sporting clubs in the country the Dubbo Junior Rugby Club has battled back from the COVID-19 lockdown to ensure players of all ages have been given the chance to play.

"We've been very thankful to all the volunteers and committee members like every other sporting organisation," Blake said.

"It's been a hard year for all sports ... but our aim as to be give them as much game time as they can and get them back again next year.

"Our results could maybe look better but some teams have reacted quicker than others to the quick turnaround and restart and we're happy with the playing strength and happy with the Wallas as well."

Junior matches start with the under 12s at 9.20am at No. 2 Oval before the under 14s Blue side plays at 10.30am and the under 16s Red team kicks off at 11.40am.

The first grade match kicks off at 3.15pm.
