"We were really looking forward to it, it was our sponsor day as well when they rang up and said they couldn't make it, it threw it all out for us," Taylor said.
"But we picked up the points for it, we're moving forward and the goal remains the same."
The goal, for now, is to climb the competition table and their three remaining chances to do so won't offer any easy outs, with the Rhinos staring down matches against Parkes, Mudgee and Narromine in their immediate future.

"It's tough with there only being three games left for us, but we can change direction on a couple of these teams, look at Mudgee, they've done great work getting to where they've got to."
"I think we can definitely spoil the party for someone else."
Taylor's first grade side are still win-less this season, but have shown a marked and determined improvement from how the club's seniors were playing last year.
"This year has been all over the place for everyone, but we've done well since the pre-season, we're getting 50 or more at training still and the commitment's there," Taylor said.
"The understanding of one another is there, we know we're all in this together, it sets us up for a great chance next year."
"Nothing's been easy and nothing's meant to be, it's all work, work, work and build, build, build."
The toughest test for the Rhinos will be this weekend's fixture against the Parkes Boars, who dealt them their harshest loss of the season in round two.
Against the Boars, the Rhinos struggled to find any momentum and despite momentary glimpses of promise, a staggering number of penalties allowed the Boars to run away with the points.
"This weekend, I really want to see us play eighty full minutes of football, we're playing teams in the top three right now, we need to be able to go all 80 against those teams, we have to get the ball and the territory," Taylor said.
"We have to have that consistency and make sure we're not constantly with our backs to our line because of possession and penalties, defence drains the bloody hell out of you, but being on the attack doesn't."
Taylor said that the improvements shown in training were helping the club remain focused, particularly after the disappointment of last week.
"This is the best team we've had since we won the grand final, but it's going to be a very hard game, it's going to come down to who has the ball the most and who attacks well," Taylor said.
"Last time they scored three tries against us out wide and the other points were all penalty shots, so we know they can kick, but if we don't give them the chances, we'll be a lot better off."
The Rhinos take on the Boars in Parkes on Saturday at 3.15pm on Pioneer Oval.
