On Tuesday the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) was forecasting daytime temperatures of 21 degrees Celsius on Saturday and 22 degrees on Sunday.
In contrast, the maximum temperatures for last weekend were 12.4 degrees and 13 degrees.

The average top temperature in Dubbo during August and September is 17.6 degrees and 21.4 degrees, respectively.
The Bom's seven-day forecast also suggests the weekend ahead will be dry.
As of Tuesday, rain had fallen in Dubbo on 19 of the first 25 days of August 2020.
A total of 38.8 millimetres (mm) of rain had been collected in the automatic weather station at Dubbo City Regional Airport this month.
Average rainfall in the city in August is 34.1mm.
Welcome rain in the region has boosted Burrendong Dam to 40.2 per cent of capacity as of Monday.
On August 11 it was at 32.2 per cent of capacity.
