Durakai Smith was involved in a serious accident on Saturday at Geurie and was flown to Westmead Hospital where he remains in an induced coma.
Miss Wells said the support from the community for the family, who run Darkeye Photography has been overwhelming.
"It's so heartwarming to see the community coming together to support a family in need," Miss Wells said.
"Brinae and Glen and their extended family are heavily involved in community through culture, sport and supporting vulnerable people."
"They are the first ones to act when someone is in need and go over and above, so it is amazing to see it being returned to them.
"The family are so very grateful and cannot thank everyone enough for their love and support."

- Rebecca Wells
Miss Wells has been a close friend of the families for nearly two decades.
"They are really one of the most genuine supportive people you will come across who put so much into their community," she said.
"Their reach of love and connection extends to so many people and it just shows through the fundraiser how many people have shown up to give their support."
Miss Wells said having been in a similar situation in her own family before, she knows how the expenses of being away from home can begin to pile up quickly.
"With a family run business and the need to remain by Durakai's side but still manage to get the bills paid back home the money is crucial," she said.
"The funds raised could help cover the accommodation needed close by to Westmead to keep the family together as Durakai also has two younger sisters. It will also allow them to have a comfortable area to retreat to try and get some rest.
"It will also help to cover the cost of meals, transport, plane tickets etc.
"There is so much unknown right now and the funds raised will help ease the financial burden that comes along with it while to family can just focus on Durakai's recovery."
