Donna is currently living in a covid-10 hotspot with her family in Melbourne.
They are under strict stage-four restrictions including a nighttime curfew, masks must be worn when outside, and they are only allowed within 5km of their home.
It's tough, and reading Donna's story (which I suggest you do, if you haven't had the chance yet), makes us a little more grateful to be living in Dubbo at the moment.
There is one active COVID-19 case in the Western NSW Local Area Health District - a case in Orange.
There are none in the Dubbo local government area. And more and more we are seeing people around town being compliant with regulations such as maintaining their distance, and wearing masks.
But while Donna's story also makes us feel a little grateful, it also shines an important light on what people in hotspot areas, and all across Victoria may be feeling at the moment.
It's scary watching from the sidelines as their case numbers rise and fall, and it reinforces to us how it must be living in among that situation.
So, this weekend we have a plea - based on what Donna told us.
If you know someone in Victoria or Melbourne and you haven't reached out in a while, why not pick up the phone, or jump on social media and say hi.
Donna said she has really appreciated the friends she made in Dubbo who are reaching out to her at the moment - even if it's a simple 'thinking of you down there'.
Because while our lives are relatively normal by comparison, there's a lot of others who are having a tough time at the moment.
And it's worth a hello, just to check in.
Have a good Sunday.
