The current weir is 4-5 metres. It used to be a LOT higher.
Why Dugald said this isn't clear - maybe he believed WaterNSW when they said they were reducing the height of the gates to about 5 metres.
The next day Dugald sent word to John Laws that the weir would be 1 metre higher than the old weir before it was blown up. That's more like it. Good to see Dugald learning in public.
Although WaterNSW did verbally suggest they would consider reducing the height of the gates, the documentation has not changed. The dam will be a 14 metre structure (almost as high as a 5 story building) with 10 metre gates, 200 metres downstream from the existing weir.
