The Bureau of Meteorology's (BoM) seven-day forecast as of Tuesday reports of the possibility of more than 40 millimetres (mm) of rain falling across the five days.
Average rainfall in Dubbo during the month of August is 34.1mm.

The BoM predicts a 30 per cent chance of up to 0.4mm of rain landing in Dubbo on Thursday, 100 per cent chance of up to 30mm on Friday, 80 per cent chance of up to 5mm on Saturday, 70 per cent chance of up to 5mm on Sunday and 30 per cent chance of 0.4mm on Monday.
Rain will follow a forecast below-average morning temperature of minus 3 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday.
The average minimum temperature in the city in August is 3.1 degrees.
Morning temperatures for the first four days of this month have ranged from 0.1 to 1.8 degrees.
The average maximum temperature in Dubbo in August is 17.6 degrees.
Daytime temperatures from Sunday to Monday ranged from 17.6 to 17.9 degrees.
Top temperatures from Wednesday to next Monday will range from 12 to 16 degrees.
