On Sunday NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian said she would not make public mask use mandatory, but urged "public facing workers" to wear one to help stop the spread of COVID-19.

Those workers urged include hospitality and supermarket employees, while worshippers and anyone in a situation where social distancing is impossible should also wear one.

IGA West Dubbo owner/manager Henry Jom said he and his staff were all wearing a face mask on Monday.

"If each of us do our bit then we might be able to beat this virus," he said.

But, he admitted face masks are "not the most comfortable" thing to wear.

Mr Jom said customers had been very compliant amid the COVID-19 pandemic and were understanding when IGA staff reminded them to maintain social distancing.

At Ashcroft's IGA Dubbo staff are not yet wearing masks, but owner Ben Ashcroft said they are on order.

"We're not wearing them at them moment, but we'll just keep following along with what the premier says," he said.

Mr Ashcroft said while it was a challenge at the start of the coronavirus pandemic to urge customers to maintain social distancing, this has since improved.

"We're in the country so it's not too bad," he said.

"People are definitely a bit complacent, especially our younger kids."

Meanwhile, there is still only one COVID-19 case in the region after a person tested positive in Orange on Friday.
