Despite a fiery game in which multiple yellow cards were handed out, the Bulls were unable to fire and couldn't score a goal, ending the game at a 3 - 0 disadvantage.
Rapley said no one played poorly on the day but "no one really stood out".
"We gave it a go but we still need to work on those easy passes, playing those one-two's and through the middle as well as our possession," Rapley said.
Inexperienced players, and the shortened pre-season were the key factors leading to the side's uneven form, with Rapley expecting more in the immediate future.

"We've got a few new players and we were missing a few," Rapley said.
"We're just trying to gel but I'm sure it will come in time."
"A short pre-season probably didn't help but I think it will come."
Lithgow coach Martin Hunter praised his side for their undefeated efforts at home, but says he expects tougher competition once the Workmen hit the road.
"Bulls are a good side and we don't expect them to play like this in their home game," Hunter said.
"Now we need to prove we can travel to win this competition."
In front of their home crowd and in their second last home game, Workmen's played with confidence according to co-coach Matt Nunan.
"We really tried everything we planned.
"If we take more opportunities in front of goal we will be even more dominant," he said.
"There were a handful of opportunities that could have gone the other way for us in front of goal."
Hunter and Nunan said stand out players were once again Logan Inwood and Daniel Stern in the midfield who both found the back of the net for Workmen's.
"Logan scored two classic goals - one with his head and another from a free kick, hit perfectly," Nunan said.
While Stern set the standard of the game making a strong run down the left side of the field and slotted a great individual goal, his first of the campaign.
"It [goal] set the way we would all face the tackles and physicality coming in the next 80 minutes," Hunter said.
Hunter said players won their individual battles and played with greater awareness.
"This shows because we are now top of the table. Game awareness was about 70 per cent which is better than it has been."
Workmen's remain unbeaten and aim to keep it that way for the rest of the campaign according to Nunan.
"Our schedule is hectic from now, we don't play at home until the very end of the season so we'll be tested.
"We hope to be lifting the minor premiers shield in front of our fans at the end of it."
Next on the calendar Lithgow Workmen's will take on Panorama in a mid-week match in Bathurst at 6.30pm followed by Orana Spurs on Saturday being their first long trip.
Dubbo Bulls will meet with Spurs on Wednesday and then enjoy a weekend of rest on Saturday with a bye.
