Playing on their home turf the Roosters registered a hard fought 18 to 10 win over the Binnaway Bombshells in the Youth League fixture, withstanding a solid comeback from the visitors in the second half who were down by 12 points at the half way mark, but outscored the home side 10 points to six in the second stanza, but it wasn't enough to reel in the deficit.

After two very close defeats the Roosterettes finally broke through for a victory winning the Ladies League Tag 28 to 8.

The final first grade score sheet did not look all that pretty for the Bombshells, but it did not tell the full story of the match, with the Roosters actually having to come from behind before they careered away to a 56 to 22 win, scoring 11 tries in the process.

At various stages of the game Binnaway lead on three occasions and were well in the game when they trailed by just two points with the score board reading 24 to 22 in favour of the Roosters.

However that was to be as close as they got as the home side gave their supporters much to cheer about as they went on to rack up 32 unanswered points to blow it out to a 56 to 22 final score line, with the Rooster's hooker Jarred Whitty crossing for three tries in an impressive individual performance

In the matches played at Gilgandra the Coonamble Bears proved to be too strong in the Youth League winning 36 to 12 and also claiming an important victory over the Pink Panthers in the League Tag, taking the match 20 points to 16.

The Bear's first grade coach, Paul Cleary, declared the Gilgandra Panthers the side to beat in the 2020 competition after he watched his side go down 56 to 18.

Coming into the game missing a number of players who had suffered injuries the previous week in the Bear's narrow loss to the Dunedoo Swans Cleary fully realised that the red and blacks were always going to face a tough task in matching the Panthers on their home turf and that is how it panned out with Gilgandra converting a 22 to 6 half time lead in to a commanding 56 to 16 full time score.

Despite the loss Cleary was full of praise for his team, especially the younger players who never stopped trying against formidable opposition.

The win by the Panthers sets up a top of the table clash at Dunedoo next Saturday with both sides entering the clash undefeated thus far and certainly the game should provide some indication as to the premiership prospects of both teams and a keen contest is anticipated.

The league tag clash should also be interesting with the Swannettes being the only undefeated team whilst the Pink Panthers will be looking for redemption after suffering their first loss last Saturday to Coonamble.

The Swannettes showed that they are well and truly in premiership contention when they edged out the Baradine Magpiettes, the 2018 and 2019 premiers, 18 to 16 at Baradine last week.
