His court date comes after rural crime investigators from Dubbo detected two vehicles acting suspiciously in Goonoo National Park on Saturday, July 25.
"A subsequent search of these vehicles revealed a small amount of cannabis and a knife," state rural crime co-ordinator Detective Inspector Cameron Whiteside said.
"A 27-year-old man from Dubbo was charged with custody of a knife in a public place, possession of a prohibited drug and driving without a licence."
He will appear at Dubbo Local Court in September.
He urged people who see anything suspicious, or who have information that may assist police in detecting rural offences, not to hesitate and to contact your local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
