Do you know what you would say if you were approached by a medical professional while your family member was dying in hopsital and asked if you would consider donating their organs?
Do you know what the wishes of your family members would be?
It's not something we ever want to think about happening to us, but we don't have a crystal ball, so we don't know what could happen in the future.
Right now around 1700 Australians are waiting for an organ transplant.
For many of these people it will be the difference between life and death.
Just one in three people are registered as organ donors, though at the end, it's up to your family to decide what will happen if you can't.
Which is why that conversation is so important to have.
This week, DonateLife Week, is the opportune time to have that conversation with Dubbo residents urged to consider both donating and joining the Australian Orgain Donor Register.
DonateLife Week runs from July 26 to August 2 and it is the national awareness week for organ and tissue donation.
Registration is important because it leaves families in no doubt of your wises to be an organ and tissue donor, and while your family will be asked to give final consent, data shows nine in 10 families honor the wishes of their loved ones.
And it's not hard to do.
Registering is quick and easy at donatelife.gov.au.
It only takes a minute with your Medicare card, and then it's a chat with your family to make sure they understand your wishes.
A few simple quick steps could help save someone elses life if the worst was to happen.
