The accident occurred at 7.19am with emergency crews responding to the scene.
Live Traffic is no longer reporting any delays to motorists travelling through this area.
Update 8.30am
EMERGENCY services remain on scene at a two-car crash on the Great Western Highway, however, a truck that jack-knifed earlier on the same road has now been cleared.
The car crash is at Walang, between Bathurst and Lithgow, and traffic is affected in both directions.
Contra flow arrangements are now in place at this site with motorists urged to exercise caution and allow for extra travel time.
Meanwhile, the truck that jack-knifed just before 7.30am on Monday was at Hartley, while a tree down on the Mitchell Highway between Bathurst and Orange has also been cleared.
Also on the region's roads, Jenolan Caves Road, between Boggy Creek Road and Caves House, is currently closed due to expected heavy rainfall on Monday and ongoing instability in the slopes due to the summer's bushfires.
Motorists are advised to take a diversion via Duckmaloi Road to Oberon, Edith Road and Jenolan Caves Road to reach Caves House.

TWO cars have crashed, a truck has jack-knifed and a tree is down on highways in the Central West causing delays in a number of locations.
Traffic on the Great Western Highway is affected in both directions at Walang, between Bathurst and Lithgow, following a two-car crash at 7.19am on Monday.
The accident occurred near Timber Ridge Road and emergency services are on scene.

Motorists have also been delayed on the Great Western Highway at Hartley after a truck jack-knifed there just before 7.30am.
Emergency services and Transport NSW have been responded to this incident.
At this stage Australian Community Media is unaware of any injuries in the car crash or truck jack-knife.

While on the Mitchell Highway at Guyong, between Bathurst and Orange, a tree has fallen down across the road.
The incident occurred at 6.18am and westbound traffic is affected near Cashens Lane.
Motorists are advised to reduce their speed and drive with caution.
