The MS Readathon will run for the entire month of August, where children will not only awaken their love of books, but help others in need.
Money raised from the MS Readathon will help fund support services, like the special MS Family Camps, which provide an opportunity for kids who have a parent living with multiple sclerosis to spend quality time with them, learn more about MS and bond with other kids who are sharing their journey.
Participants read what they want and as much as possible and ask friends and family to sponsor them either online or by giving a donation in cash or by cheque.
Last year, Wellington's Daisy Smith read a total of 27 books during the 31 days raising more than $4500.
It was Daisy's first time taking part in the fundraiser and through her efforts became the third highest money raiser.
