So far, 1264 penalty infringement notices (PIN) have been issued to individuals across the state since March 17, with a further 10 infringements issued to businesses.

There have been a further, 218 court attendance notices issued/charges laid for 'fail to comply with Public Health Act'.

A NSW Police spokeswoman said she was not in a position to provide a breakdown of PINs/charges by area or region.

Fines have, however, been issued in the Central West and Orana regions including when lockdown restrictions were tight and you were not able to leave your home without a reasonable excuse.

Then, two men were find for flouting COVID-19 laws following a police pursuit and a woman who was found with camping gear and no reasonable excuse for being away from home.

In one week alone, 50 warnings and $14,000 in fines were issued to people not complying with lockdown restrictions.

The legislation was amended earlier this year to help prevent the spread of the virus in the community.

The police spokeswoman said officers were taking a proactive approach to ensure businesses in the region comply with COVID-19 restrictions and minimise the risk of community spread.

"In addition to regular business inspections by licensing police, we've tasked officers to conduct patrols at restaurant precincts and licensed premises, as well as other areas where people may gather," she said.

"While minimal issues have been raised at this time, we would like to remind the community to be vigilant. If you see something that concerns you, raise it with staff at the venue in the first instance."
