Parents, teachers, principals and community members will be able to nominate a child in year six who they believe to have made a difference.
One junior ambassador will be selected from each state and territory across the country.
Founding director of The Fred Hollows Foundation Gabi Hollows said the award recognised students who have shown compassion, kindness and integrity, particularly during such a challenging year, and have therefore been an inspiration for others.
"I urge people to nominate year six student for the Humanity Award and together we can continue to help spread compassion and kindness during this trying time."
All nominees will also receive a certificate and be recognised at a virtual presentation ceremony later in the year. Nominations close midday on Friday, September 11, and can be made at www.hollows.org/fredhollowshumanityaward.
