In January this year, detectives from the State Crime Command's Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation following reports two children had been sexually abused by a man who was known to them.
Following extensive inquiries, investigators arrested a 30-year-old man at Coonamble Police Station just before 9am on Thursday, July 2.
The man was charged with four counts of sexual intercourse with person under the age of 10 years, four counts of commit act of indecency with victim under 10 years and indecent assault person under 16 years of age.
Police will allege in court that the man sexually abused a young girl and boy on numerous occasions at Coonamble between 2013 and 2014.
The man was refused bail to appear at Gunnedah Local Court on Thursday.
