Prior to the 2015 election Troy Grant said "plans to expand the drug Court to Dubbo were almost finalised".
The Federal Government has committed $3 million towards a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Dubbo.
There have been TWO Parliamentary inquiries recommending the facilities for Dubbo.
A Senior Judge, the Governor of NSW, the President of the NSW Law Society and the President of the Orana Law Society, ALL support the establishment of these facilities.
Dubbo Council have offered land. Yet nothing is happening.
Mr. Saunders continues to say "we can't do things in a hurry". Waiting more than 4 years is not "doing things in a hurry".
Mr. Saunders says that a drug Court is a starting point. Tell us Mr. Saunders when offenders appear in a drug Court, "rehabilitation" or "detox" is recommended, where would you suggest they go?
Jobs, jobs isn't that the Government's "catch cry"?
A rehabilitation/detox centre will provide on-going health care and related jobs.
The NSW Government can find $150 million to build the River Street bridge, which a majority don't want. Businesses in Dubbo do and the Nationals are insisting on it. What does that tell you? Private profit before health care?
You've used the excuse of COVID-19 before for not being able to do anything, yet you "boast" about lobbying on other matters, why not this vital matter?
What's your problem Mr. Saunders?
