The Dubbo Electric Vehicle Interest, Owners, Users and Supporters (DEVIOUS) group, meets on the first Wednesday of every month.
Mathew Dickerson, who has driven electric or hybrid vehicles since 2005, said people came from across the region, including one person from the Hunter area, for the monthly meetings.
ALSO MAKING NEWS:
The casual meetings, which have about eight regulars, allow the EV owners to talk about new developments or compare vehicles, while others interested in the cars drop in to ask questions.
"All the myths about electric vehicles just break down when you talk to someone who drives one every day," Mr Dickerson said.
Anyone is welcome to attend the meetings which start at 12pm at the Western Plains Cultural Centre.
"Even if people think electric cars are terrible and we've all got rocks in our head, we welcome those people as well," Mr Dickerson said.
