The Nation's 100 Best Loved Books
The fifth annual Better Reading's Top 100 Books has been announced! This marvellous list generated from votes by the Australian public is perfect for those wanting a diverse list of literary and popular fiction.
This year, Australian author Trent Dalton's Boy Swallows Universe took out the top spot, while authors with multiple entries included Jane Harper, Liane Moriarty and Judy Nunn. Once again, more than half the Top 100 are by Australian authors, with well over half the authors being female.
Classics continue to retain popularity as well as debut titles like A Lifetime of Impossible Days, How to be Second Best and Wildflower Ridge. A number of follow up novels from debut authors last year also made the list including The Wife and the Widow, The Strangers We Know, Suitcase of Dreams, Cottage at Rosella Cove, After the Party and The Daughter's Tale.
