Last time Noel's Gift raced he called Mudgee Race Club home.
He'll return to the track on Sunday but this time it will be as a visitor.
Noel's Gift will be first-up in the XXXX Cup at Mudgee, having been in the paddock since June of last year.
Trainer Gayna Williams was based at Mudgee then but has since moved her stables to Bathurst.
The trainer admitted to Racing NSW she hadn't planned to spell the former Country Championships finalist for as long as she did, but after a handy third in a recent trial at Bathurst she heads into this weekend in an optimistic day.
"We're really happy with his condition and he trialled nicely," Williams said.
Noel's Gift will take on some experienced country campaigners in the cup with Rodney Robb and Wayne Collison putting forward A Magic Zariz and A Martin Placepick respectively.
Dubbo trainer Garry Lunn nominated Pittsburgh, a recent addition to his stables.
There were 156 nominations in total for the seven-race meeting, with final fields to be confirmed on Thursday.
Meanwhile, there were 57 nominations received for Saturday's picnic meeting at Nyngan.
The meeting is headlined by the Packy's Kanga Hire Nyngan Pic Cup (1250m) and hometown hope Robb has three hopes in the mix.
Nominations for the meeting were finalised on Tuesday and the 10 for the cup include Robb's Blue Channel, Drummed Out, and Still Undaunted.
With a benchmark rating of 76 Still Undaunted is set to be the class runner in the field and has been put forward after running fourth when first-up at Mudgee earlier this month.
The cup field also included Dubbo hopes Naoko and Ocean Hero, trained by Connie Greig and Michael Lunn respectively.
Final fields are released on Thursday.
