He'll return to the track on Sunday but this time it will be as a visitor.
Noel's Gift will be first-up in the XXXX Cup at Mudgee, having been in the paddock since June of last year.
Trainer Gayna Williams was based at Mudgee then but has since moved her stables to Bathurst.
The trainer admitted to Racing NSW she hadn't planned to spell the former Country Championships finalist for as long as she did, but after a handy third in a recent trial at Bathurst she heads into this weekend in an optimistic day.
"We're really happy with his condition and he trialled nicely," Williams said.
Noel's Gift will take on some experienced country campaigners in the cup with Rodney Robb and Wayne Collison putting forward A Magic Zariz and A Martin Placepick respectively.
