After announcing in March that the festival would be postponed until the 17th of October, these unprecedented times during the COVID-19 era have meant the festival has now been called off.
On Thursday morning Executive Event Solutions posted on Facebook, confirming the sad news that the festival would not be proceeding.
"As you all know our move to initially postpone the Trundle ABBA Festival was something we did not take lightly. Advice from health authorities as well as the valued input from the local Trundle community has always been of paramount of importance to us.
"After a public meeting with the Trundle community this week where they expressed their concerns about the festival going ahead and after measured consideration of the implications of the pandemic, we have made the hard decision to cancel this year's event," confirmed Executive Event Solutions.
"We have loved working with all of you and we managed to put on a world class event that not only showcased the music of ABBA but embraced and embodied the spirit of an Australian rural community & culture."
2020 would have been the 8th running of the ABBA Festival, Australia's first and only festival celebrating the world renowned Swedish pop quartet.
The cancellation of the vibrant event is a bitter blow, but 2021 represents a hope for the festival to return bigger and better than ever.
A full and automatic refund for ticket holders will be processed through 123 Tix, while those with tickets purchased for the train, glamping and camping will be contacted shortly.
