'Learning Hubs' at Dubbo College South Campus have evolved as a result of changes to learning delivery during COVID-19.
The learning hubs focus on student areas of interest to promote engagement and growth. Students are encouraged to learn through the use of critical and creative skills, including collaboration and problem solving.
Head teacher, Adam Romanowski explained the learning hubs program would run each afternoon for the last period of the day.
"With more than 40 activity options available, the students have been provided with a wide range of choices to suit their interests," Mr Romanowski said.
"Some of the options include coding and brain training, life skills, photography, sports, mindfulness and cultural activities".
South Campus has embraced the challenges associated with learning during COVID-19 and the school community is looking forward to extending the learning hubs throughout the rest of the term.
"The feedback from students and staff has been extremely positive" Mr Romanovski said.
"Reports confirm high levels of participation and engagement, so we have been encouraged to continue with this approach".
South Campus principal Linda Macleod said the school and community welcomed the initiative.

"We are excited to be adding this initiative into our programs because we know when students are genuinely interested in a subject, they build connections and boost their self-esteem and mental health," Ms Macleod said.
"This program has also resulted in improved student engagement with the school, relationship building and additional support for our teachers and improved cross-age relationships.
"Students will be invited to write a student reflection statement for their first semester reports allowing them to have greater input into the assessment of their learning."
