The Bulldogs board will meet this week to discuss the future of Pay, who is on contract until the end of the season.
Pay saw his side show fight but ultimately lose 20-18 to Cronulla on Sunday, leaving the Bulldogs with just the one win this season.
"They've got a meeting this week. That's their job. I'll just keep doing mine," Pay said on Sunday.
Pay was handed something of a poisoned chalice when he took over at Belmore, with the Bulldogs' ability to field top-class talent seriously hampered by salary cap pressure.

Pay, who coached Dubbo CYMS to a title in 2007, has received plenty of praise for integrating a number of young players into a side which still lacks real elite talent.
"We're starting to get our cap back in order and we need to buy some real quality players to put around these young blokes that are turning up and give 100 per cent each and every week," Pay said.
"And that's what they've been doing. You seen tonight how much fight they've got. And it's difficult. They're under difficult circumstances."
The Bulldogs will face the Wests Tigers next round.
