That's been shown recently with a massive $100,000 donation to Macquarie Home Stay from the Toyota Tour de OROC, run by the Rotary Club of South Dubbo.
The funds will go towards the Home Stay's expansion plans, which are needed to assist residents in the wider western community.
Currently the Macquarie Home Stay offers 14 rooms for those who need accommodation when accessing the Dubbo Health service.
But, with the Cancer Centre to be completed next year, a higher demand will be placed upon the centre, as more people come to Dubbo for treatment.
And that's why the community need to get behind calls to help the Home Stay committee with plans for future expansions.
There is a genuine need for the facility to expand.
Already they are working with motels in Dubbo to assist people with accommodation because the facility is fully.
People seeking shelter at Macquarie Home Stay come from more than "44 per cent" of NSW including Broken Hill and Moree.
And while a second expansion for those seeking cancer treatment would assist when the new cancer centre is opened, a third expansion also needs to be also built just to cater for the number of people already being turned away now.
Ideally it would be great to see the construction of two new stages start early next year, but funding first has to be sought.
The committee have already approached potential government and private benefactors, but with a $7 million price tag, it also all depends on which funding becomes available and when.
Stage one of the facility was years in the making, lets not let stage two and three take as long.
