Like every other sporting group, the Dubbo Basketball Association has been eagerly awaiting updates in recent weeks but they face more of a challenge than some others.
Given their matches are played inside at Dubbo Sportsworld and many training sessions are conducted at the indoor Dubbo Christian School courts, further restrictions have applied.
But with life beginning to somewhat return to normal and restrictions easing, the courts are set to open again.
"We're looking to restart our junior competition from the 24th of July," Dubbo Basketball Association president Hale Gordon said.
"But we've got organise things with Sportsworld and the Christian School."
Junior representative training is also expected to start shortly ahead of a makeshift program for country associations.

Matches and training is expected to be completed with minimal fuss at Sportsworld given the size of the venue but social distancing measures are likely to be put in for coaching staff and spectators.
The picture isn't quite as clear for the senior sides.
The men's Waratah League season has been abandoned but the Dubbo Rams could still feature in a gala representative tournament on the October long weekend.
The Dubbo women's side has decided not to take to the court this year after the team returned to play in 2019.
Both sides will remain focused on building for 2021 but Gordon said even that is difficult at the moment.
"Once things ease we can focus on imports for next year again and focus on that competition," he said.
"But it's the uncertainty. That's the big thing. It can change from day to day and if there's a second wave then we're back to square one."
The fate of the local senior competition for this year is yet to be confirmed.
The juniors' involvement in the Waratah Country Challenge will be dependant on interest from players.
With many junior basketball representative competitions often played in summer and numerous other winter sports to return in the coming weeks there could be a clash for many of Dubbo's players.
Country Challenge matches will be played at various locations across the state in the under 12s, 14s, 16s, and 18s across four weekends in August and September.
"We'll have to make a bit of announcement to see who's available," Gordon said of Dubbo's involvement.
"Basketball is a second sport for a lot of kids so things could clash now."
