Staggs looked the goods early, putting the finishing touches on some early effort by Xavier Coates and chasing down his own kick to secure Brisbane's first try in two games.
Both men put up a try each through their combination, but the returning playmaker was unable to help the Broncos reel in their defensive lapses.
