The Bathurst trainer had a memorable return to the thoroughbred scene last Thursday when Eye Will ended her two year absence from the sport in style, and Grives fields three pacers in the hopes of keeping the good times coming.
Grives fields three runners at the upcoming Bathurst Paceway meeting - Lavros Midas Touch, Life Lavros and Glamour Fox.
The trainer-driver said the recent Tyers Park triumph was a wonderful moment to take back into her next standardbred bid.
"We knew she was going into the race a bit underdone because she missed the jump out the week before due to the rain. To her credit she fought on and was a very deserved winner," Grives said of Eye Will's run.
"Lavros Midas Touch has been racing consistently but has a tough draw and a nice field in that one so he'll need a bit of luck. Life Lavros has been forced to work on a lot of his runs but he should get a nice trip on the fence this time.
"It is an open affair and hard to find a winner. If he gets luck late and gets out at the right time he can be in the finish."
Life Lavros will start on the inside of the back row for the Lexus Of Dubbo Pace (2,260 metres) but has some speed in front to latch onto, with Bernie Hewitt's Alta Equus.
Lavros Midas Touch will need a lot of things to go his way in the Stu Valentine 4 Bloodstock Ins Pace (1,730m), especially with John Boserio's in-form Holy Camp Dillon and Hewitt's winner on debut Cala Jane starting from the two inside gates.
Grives has a high opinion of her two-year-old Glamour Fox, who chases her first win during Wednesday's last event on the program.
"She's always showed ability. She's just very green. The first race you can call a write off. She did too much work for where she was at. We then elected to not do as much work with her off the gate and then she really got home like she can," she said.
"If she runs up to the standard she did last week she'll be up there as well."
Grives also had Alibi entered for the meeting but the mare has been sold since fields were announced.
