While those involved in junior sport were rejoincing on Tuesday, there was no such good news for senior sporting groups.

And it could be some time until we hear an update, according to Dubbo MP Dugald Saunders.
Saunders was present in Sydney on Tuesday when Acting Minister for Sport Greg Lee announced junior sport would return from July 1.
Lee added the plan for a return to senior sport was being worked on but Saunders admitted it's much more difficult compared to the junior side of things.

"The NRL and AFL, when it comes back, are doing things in a way to make sure they're part of what's expected in the Public Health Order. In community sport it's going to be more difficult to do that, that's the ultimate reality," he said.
"That said, there is a lot of work being done to see how things will look in the future."
Saunders said he was hopeful of an announcement in the coming month, while NSW Rugby League chief David Trodden was also hopeful of an update "in the neat future".
"We remain hopeful that the NSW government will also approve a return to play for adult teams in the very near future, recognising the central role that sport plays in our community and the positive impact that sport can have in recovery from the coronavirus pandemic," Trodden said.
The local Group 11 season has been set to start on July 18 but that depends on advice at the time and whether crowds are allowed at matches.
