Students and staff of St Johns College Dubbo and St Mary's Primary School bid a sad farewell to their teacher and colleague Diane Quade on Friday afternoon.

They formed a guard of honour in Brisbane Street after Mrs Quade's funeral in St Brigid's Church.
Mrs Quade, who is survived by her husband Michael and daughter Georgie, died from cancer "complications".

She worked at the college for 26 years and was Year 12 coordinator from 2000 to 2020.
In 2019, Mrs Quade "added the daily organisation of staff" to her workload.
The respected teacher also supported senior students as the stage six careers and pathways adviser and TAFE VET coordinator.
"Her extensive knowledge of career, university and TAFE opportunities has given the college Year 12 students very successful outcomes from their HSC experience for 21 years," college principal Kerry Morris said in the lead-up to the funeral.
